In Physical Education class, we have been discussing the importance of taking care of our hearts and our ability to make a difference in the world in which we live. Our goal is to raise funds to support the American Heart Association research and education initiatives that save lives! We are proud to "Jump" for some very special people in our own school: Trevor Berry, Noah Brown, Amanda Dotson, Quinten Hallsted, Mrs. Hendrickson, Mrs. Hirning and their families have been directly affected by stroke and heart disease. We will also have a special wall for all the friends and family we are jumping in honor of.
We will be selling a special Chadron Jump Rope for Heart event T-shirt to benefit the American Heart Association AND our very own Chadron Volunteer Fire Department! (I will be posting a picture of the shirt design soon!) Not only does our Fire Department protect us from fires, but also respond to medical emergencies! I can say without a doubt, we are a very blessed community to have such skilled, dedicated, and selfless volunteers!
Thank you, Chadron Volunteer Fire Department!
Mrs. Donna Ritzen's college classes and the CSC Wrestling team will work with our students to teach them many age-appropriate jumping activities and jump rope skills. It's ok if your child does not know how to jump rope! :)
Last year our students raised an amazing $16,640 and had the #1 JRFH event in all of Nebraska!
We hope to continue this amazing community service opportunity and making a difference for our community! If you would like to help or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Rischling at 432-0717 or 432-0710 or linda.rischling@chadronschools.net.
